Language is the spine of global communication. It is the doorway of our creativity, imagination, originally and aestheticism besides providing professional skill. It provides great opportunities and a powerful boost to career. English originated from the fusion of closely related dialects, now collectively termed Old English, which were brought to the eastern coast of Great Britain by Germanic (Anglo-Saxon) settlers. It is now the most widely used language in the world and becoming the leading language of international discourse and the lingua franca in many regions. The department of English in the campus is striving for enrichment of the language and providing in depth aesthetic knowledge and an eagerness to appreciate the language in its ingenuity to the students who come here to avail themselves of the course. Our library is rich in the books covering English literature from middle age to present times. Thesauruses, Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, Reference books are available. To meet the challenges and demands of modern times, with highly interactive classes, the departments also organizes college and inter-college level activities e.g. literary quiz, debate, poem recitation, seminar, extension lecture.

Arena becomes extensive to choose vocation according to one’s ability and taste like in the field of translation, publishing, houses, business world, sales line, subject editors, language experts, instructional designers and education.
